Blind Faith, A Tides Inn Erotic Trilogy now available

My first release of the year, BLIND FAITH, A Tides Inn Erotic Trilogy is now available, for just 99 cents.

The book is a collection of three stories that center around Pamela, a waitress at the exclusive Tides Inn resort, and her attraction to Brett McCoy, a frequent guest at the Inn. Pamela, who generally serves Brett (at his request) when he dines at the Inn, decides to make her desires known to him.

She wasn't prepared for his response. At first she's shocked, then confused, and finally she realized Brett, despite his confident demeanor, has issues of his own, and she wonders if he can ever experience love without control.

Here's an excerpt:

“I have requirements of you,” he whispered. “Requirements that necessitate me removing your blindfold.”
A charge ran through Pamela’s body, one of anticipation at seeing Brett, fully nude. He grabbed her arms, lifted her to her feet, then untied the blindfold, let it drop.
She looked at him – his legs were much like his upper body, slender yet muscular, and she wanted to feel those legs against her again.
He turned her around, facing away from him, and removed the gag. She worked her mouth open and shut several times.
“You must be hungry by now,” Brett said. “I know I am.”
That’s when Pamela noticed a plate of food on the desk in the corner. The plate held a handful of grapes, some slices of banana, a few pieces of chocolate broken off from a bar, crackers and cheese chunks.
“I had room service bring something up while I was waiting for you.” She felt him behind her again, his body pressed against hers. “As before, I wish for you to feed me.” Then he was gone. She turned to find him taking his place on a large chair in the corner of the room, opposite the desk which held the food.
She looked back to the food, then to him, and realized what he meant for her to do. She walked to the corner, bent over, took a piece of chocolate in her mouth, and then strolled across the room toward Brett, the chocolate protruding from her lips. She felt foolish in a way, vulnerable, naked and helpless with her hands bound behind her back, having to walk across the room in his manner, serving him. But she felt alive, as if she were finding some level of gratification she had never known.
Pamela reached Brett and stood, unsure how to proceed, then she straddled his lap, eased herself down onto his legs. Oh, I want you. Pamela wanted his hands on her, caressing, probing, playing.
She pulled the chocolate fully into her mouth, held it there while it melted, then slowly, teasingly she leaned over, pushing her chest forward, her breasts rubbing against his chest, and she saw desire and wanting in his eyes, and Pamela knew whatever he had planned, however long this feeding exercise was supposed to last, he was about to lose control again. Because of her. Despite being bound, and knowing that he could do absolutely anything to her, at that moment Pamela felt power, a raw sexual level of control over Brett, over his desires, his ability to focus.
She put her lips to his, opened her mouth and pushed the sticky, melted chocolate from her mouth into his, her saliva mixing with his, tongues entwined as he tried to take every piece of the chocolate she offered. Pamela felt herself grow dripping-wet, she even thought her heart may have skipped a beat when his hands began playing along her thighs. She pushed her tongue even deeper. He moaned, his hands moving to up to her hips.....

You can purchase BLIND FAITH for just 99 cents for your Kindle here, for your Nook here, or for any format here at Smashwords.

For a larger sample, you can get the first tale in the collection, PRIVATE DINING, for free here at Smashwords. (Soon it'll be available at other retailers for free as well).

I hope you enjoy...

Some hot erotica plans for 2014

Many who know me say I tend to march to the beat of a different drummer (occasionally to a drumbeat no on else seems to be able to hear). Still, sometimes, every once in a great while, I do something downright traditional.

That's what I'm doing today, writing a New Year's blog to talk a little bit about my 2014 plans. Sorta like my New Year's publishing resolutions.

Before getting into all of that, I want to take a quick glance back at 2013. Not to review what I've published, or talking about anything specific. I just want to say that while it was definitely an up and down year, I thank all of you who have been reading my work, and to some of my new author friends who have taught me so much about writing and publishing I want to say you ladies are the best!

You guys are definitely a big part of the good times I experience in 2013. For my readers, I hope I was able to give you a few hours of enjoyment while you were reading my books. I know I enjoyed writing them, and I can't tell you how thrilling it is to get notes from you all, or reviews, about the stories. I hope to give you even more this year.

And now, onward to 2014.

First, I plan on Jan. 8 to officially release PAMELA'S CHOICE, the long-awaited conclusion to the little trilogy I began with my erotica short, PRIVATE DINING and continued with the story ROOM SERVICE. Rather than release PAMELA'S CHOICE as a stand-alone short, I've combined all three of them in the collection BLIND FAITH, A TIDES INN EROTICA TRILOGY

I'll tell you a little secret though – you can get BLIND FAITH now for just 99 cents, here for your Kindle, here for your Nook, or here for any format from Smashwords. If you want a glimpse into the trilogy, you can get the first story, PRIVATE DINING, for free right here at Smashwords. It'll be up and live – and free – for your Nook sometime, though I'm patiently waiting on B&N to upload the site from Smashwords. Still waiting on Amazon to change the price to free. I'll add that information here as it becomes available.

Second, the third, and as yet untitled, final installment of the LETHAL OBSESSION trilogy will be out in March, with a tentative release date of March 4. In this one, Detective Angela Martin goes deeper into the world of bondage, BDSM, and submission than she's ever dreamed – not because she's still seeking something, but she's trying to save the man she loves. Can she return? Can she even survive?

I'll also have another tale coming out in late April that will take a look at what happens to a couple who take their fantasy life a little too far, kidnapping a woman to make their own slave, and what can happen when they target the wrong person…

Beyond that? I've already got a few stories in the works, perhaps a couple of more traditional thrillers that aren't so overtly erotica, and maybe even a little horror and erotica mixed together as we near October.

We'll have to see.

But for now, I have a busy, busy first few months planned, so I'm going to get busy writing!

I hope you have a great, wonderful 2014 and that all your fantasies come true this year!

Thanks for stopping by.

Unfinished business, part 2 -- wrapping up a story or two

I don't really have any big announcement to make, other than I finally put the last period in the final sentence of the third installment of my Tides Inn Erotica Tales series.

A few days ago, in my blog headlined A misty run, unfinished business, and a mysterious woman, I referenced a couple of stories I published late last year, Private Dining and Room Service, and the fact that I had intended to write a third story in the series.

Those of you who have been following me know that in recent months I've had some difficulties which have kept me offline, away from writing, and struggling just to get through the day (Emerging from silence -- depression and life).

Now that I am hip deep in continuing treatment and making progress, I have definitely found excitement in writing again, and I've finally finished the first draft of the third Tides Inn tale, right on the schedule I had set for myself.

The story did take a few twists I hadn't expected, but overall I'm happy with it.I still don't have a title, but I'll be coming up with that as I edit the story. Later this month, as we approached Jan. 1, I'll be releasing the work.

And soon I'll be turning my attention to the third installment of The Lethal Obsession Trilogy.

A misty run, unfinished business, and a mysterious woman

As most of you who read this know, I moved to the mountains of Southwest Virginia earlier this year -- not by choice, but in search of a new job, and in some ways a new start on life.

I've lived in a lot of places over the years, none really permanent since I was 16, though I thought I had found a small town where I'd settle in eastern North Carolina before losing my job. While the job loss and subsequent move wasn't in my plans, I love it where I am now.

Here's one reason why. A few days ago I had gone for quick run, and halfway through it I just stopped. I was on an isolated old road, surrounded by rolling fields. It was a cold day, the air filled with a fine mist, and a feeling of, for lack of better term, freshness in the air I never felt before moving here. The only thing I could see was a couple of ramshackle old barns looking as if they might fall at any second, a handful of granite stones protruding from the ground in a tiny, long-forgotten cemetery, and fog-shrouded ridges off in the distance.

That's when I heard them. The voices. No, I'm not crazy, I wasn't really hearing voices, but those hills, the farmland, even the cemetery -- they've been there for years, eons even, watching as the seasons passed, the land changed, as Native Americans walked the land, as Europeans settled the area.

What stories are floating around in those hollows? What tales can be heard by just listening, by feeling, what those mountains have to say?

Eventually I resumed my little run, but along the way a story began forming in my head. The story of a woman who grew up in those mountains, left her home as a teen for the big city and bright lights, and then came back...but that's enough for now, though this is a story that I believe will find life in 2014.

Before then, however, I have unfinished business.

A year ago I published two short stories, PRIVATE DINING and then ROOM SERVICE. My intent was to make them part of a long-running series, which I may yet do. What I will commit to is finishing the short trilogy those two were meant to be part of, and have that third, as yet unnamed tale, available in January.

After that comes the third installment in my Lethal Obsession Trilogy, which began with the novel LETHAL OBSESSION and continued with HELPLESS. The third installment, which as of yet is unnamed, will be out some time in the later part of February or the first part of March. While this will complete the trilogy, I haven't yet decided what to do with Detective Angela Martin. Who knows, maybe she won't survive the final installment?

I have a wicked little erotica tale after that which has planted itself in my head and won't go away. Despite all the experts saying indie writers should devote themselves to a series, this one tale I have to do, and it probably will be a stand-alone.

And did I say this one will be wicked?

And then I think it might be time to turn my attention to something outside the world of erotica, the story of that woman who came to me on that cold, rainy run. Where that story takes me, I'm not sure, but I will definitely have her tale for you in 2014.

Lethal Obsession, a life change and a new beginning

A couple of days ago I mentioned how my life had taken a few recent unexpected turns, and how I wasn't sure what I'd be doing, or even where I'd be living soon. I left off by mentioning my novel, LETHAL OBSESSION, and how I had been unprepared for the reaction its publication brought to me.

Let me take a step back and say even before LETHAL OBSESSION, my life started to change just a little -- though I didn't realize it -- when I first published a couple of short stories last year, PRIVATE DINING and ROOM SERVICE.

When I was a child my grandmother -- whom I miss very much, even all these years after she passed away -- introduced me to stories. She would read to me, and later would listen as I read to her. My home life could be best described as less than ideal, so I found some solace in reading. Then I began writing, creating my own worlds where I could do anything I wanted.

Soon enough I found myself not wanting to write just for escapism, but I wanted to write to elicit reactions from others, like those authors had gotten from me. I'd let friends read my work, and I often judged the work based on the reaction I'd get from them.

Sadly, I don't have any of that early work. My mother tore most of it up one day, not long before I left home. I was on the road a lot after that, and I'd occasionally write stories or snippets of stories in longhand, but most of that was lost along the way as well.

In December 2011, with a new job and a place to live, I bought a computer as a Christmas present to myself and began playing around, doing some writing. A friend convinced me I should try selling some of the work as e-stories on Amazon, so in November of last year I published two short stories, PRIVATE DINING and ROOM SERVICE.

By the end of the year I'd sold a couple of hundred copies of those. They were simple little short stories, only selling for 99 cents each, so I really didn't make any money off of them (I get 35 cents per sale), but I was absolutely blown away that someone would pay, even 99 cents, to read my work. I was doubly blown-away that someone would read one, then pay another 99 cents for a second story!

I wrote a couple more stories, longer ones that didn't sell so well (JENNIFER LOST and then JENNIFER BOUND), before I tackled LETHAL OBSESSION.

I published that short novel at the very end of February, and the response was more than I had ever hoped. I don't want you to get the wrong idea, it's not as if I sold thousands of copies, but it did sell relatively well.

I owe a big part of that success to someone who took me under her wing a bit -- author J.M. Schroder. She found something in that story she liked, so she did some promotions for me, helped show me how to promote it, and has been a true friend and big-time supporter who I cannot thank enough. Actually, I've found many wonderful people who have helped me, given me good advice, and I don't mean to leave anyone out, but Jennie has been an absolute angel.

People bought the novel. People gave me good reviews. A few bloggers interviewed me. Even now I get mails from people on Facebook asking when the sequel will be ready. I was absolutely not prepared for this. This might sound funny, but it became intimidating. Suddenly I felt as if I wasn't writing my stories, but trying to build something to live up to expectations of others.

I will be very open here -- writing that sequel has been difficult. I went through a small period of depression (nothing too serious, I've learned to deal with that when it comes up). Then the issue with my boss and his girlfriend (see my last blog, here) and my job loss and I just felt like everything was a little out of control in my life.

Being jobless I've been able to spend a lot of time alone these past two weeks, walking, thinking (and yes, playing in the rain!). I've re-evaluated a few things in my life, where I've been going, what I want from my writing.

If you read that last blog, you know my life is in a state of flux right now. I'm not sure if I'm going to remain here or move on to some other community. I don't know where I'm going to find a job (and while I'm okay for a short time, I'm like everyone else, I NEED a job).

But I do know this -- writing will be, whether figuratively or literally, my refuge from the world, just as it was those many years ago when I was a child. And I won't be caught off-guard again, or get so caught up in the reaction of readers that I lose focus on the writing that I do.

I am charging full-speed ahead on the sequel to LETHAL OBSESSION (and on a sequel to the shorts PRIVATE DINING and ROOM SERVICE), and I already have my next tale lined up to write when the LETHAL OBSESSION sequel is published. And after that next story is done, I have a few special shorts just for the Halloween season I'll be writing (not to mention a magical little story I need to get done for Kelly -- you didn't think I had forgotten, did you?)

After that? I don't know just yet, but there will be more. Perhaps a third part in the Angela Martin/LETHAL OBSESSION saga, or maybe something entirely different with a new set of characters and challenges for them to work through.

For those of you who have read my work, who have contacted me, or helped me along the way, I offer a sincere thanks (especially you Jennie!). And I'll be putting new work out soon.

As always, thanks for reading.

xoxo

Kicking off a Great Year!

As 2012 draws to its close and the new year is about to begin, I have to confess to being blown away by the reaction I’ve received thus far to my writing.

My life hasn’t always been the easiest – if you read my profile you’ll most likely infer that I didn’t have the most stable of backgrounds, and you’ll be correct. But I’ve done okay for myself, getting out of a home that was no good, keeping myself alive and moving on, working hard but glad to have a job, and all the while letting my imagination run wild.

I started putting some of that imagination down on paper, then when I settled down a bit and finally got my tiny hands on a computer I started writing some of those stories in electronic form. A couple of friends suggested I try sending them off to magazines, or e-publishing them, and while I was never quite able to bring myself to submit to publications I began e-publishing just a few short weeks ago.

My first two stories, PRIVATE DINING and ROOM SERVICE (part of The Tides Inn Erotic Tales series), went live on Nov. 24, and after a few days of checking them out, making sure all was okay, I began doing a little marketing.

Honestly, I had no idea what to expect, and I felt if just a handful of people bought the stories I’d be ecstatic.

More than a handful bought.

When I did a free give-away for PRIVATE DINING, I found thousands of people willing to download the work, moving it well into the top 50 Amazon erotica category. Even after the free promo ended, people kept buying both PRIVATE DINING and ROOM SERVICE, which is a continuation of the PRIVATE DINING.

This past week I uploaded two new stories in a different series, JENNIFER LOST and JENNIFER BOUND, part of the Ville D’Esclavage series. A few of those were bought and downloaded even before I announced their availability! (And if you’re wondering, Ville D’Esclavage is roughly translated “bondage city” or “town of bondage” if that gives you any idea of which way those stories might lean).

This weekend (Dec. 29-Dec. 30) I’m doing another free promo, this time for JENNIFER LOST, and while the first day of the promo wasn’t quite as strong as the one for PRIVATE DINING, I’m still pleased.

Just a few short weeks ago the idea that people would buy my work – well, it was little more than a dream.

Now it’s happening, and it’s quite exciting!

More importantly, though, through Twitter and Facebook I’ve come across some really great people. Some have bought my work, some haven’t, but it’s been great fun to chat with others – some writers, some not – and I think the best benefit of the self-publishing has been meeting others, even if the meetings have been of the electronic variety.

I have more writing coming this year – a third tale in The Tides Inn series to wrap up the story arc begun in PRIVATE DINING and a third tale in the Ville D’Esclavage series to tie up that story line, as well as a full-length murder mystery/romance/bondage-related novel (that’s some combination, huh?).

Most of all I hope to meet more people in the upcoming year – maybe even you. Go ahead and drop a comment here, or look me up on Facebook (shandramillerwriter) or Twitter (@shandramillerwr).

I hope you buy one of my works, maybe more, but most of all I hope we can maybe share a hello or two.

A few erotic gifts for last-minute Christmas shopping

We made it past the Mayan Doomsday, but your personal D-DAY is just around the corner because Christmas is here and you haven’t finished your shopping.

Maybe your significant other has everything she (or he) needs; perhaps you need a little token gift for a coworker or casual friend; possibly you just procrastinated and now you’re up a creek without a paddle. Heck, maybe you worked hard, got your Christmas shopping done early and now you're looking to give yourself a little present.

Ever thought about e-gifting a book? It’s inexpensive, you don’t have to worry about on-time delivery (in fact, delivery is FREE), and it’s just a cool 21st-century thing to do.

You can give an e-book to anyone who has a valid e-mail address, and they don’t even need to own a Kindle to read your gift. For complete information on how to e-gift a book, visit giving an e-book, then check out my offers here:

For those who like a little spice with their meals, may I suggest my tale PRIVATE DINING? Pamela, who serves as a waitress as the ritzy Tides Inn, pulls out all the stops to show her best customer, Brett, that she can be more than a table server. But Brett turns the table on her, and Pamela finds being a server entails more than a simple meal. PRIVATE DINING is just 99 cents.

In ROOM SERVICE, Pamela learns that Brett has an appetite that goes far beyond what he had for dinner, and she is the only dish that can satiate his desire. ROOM SERVICE is just 99 cents.

In JENNIFER LOST, the first in my new series, ville d’esclavage tales, Jennifer is thrilled when Andrei invites her to be his escort at a masquerade party at this ancestral home. The party turns into a show, with a magician and his assistant on stage, performing the usual routine of magic tricks when the show takes a dark and erotic turn – and Jennifer watches, enraptured, as a woman is taken on stage, bound and disrobed, while the magician and his sultry helper have their way with her. Soon enough, Jennifer finds herself the center of attention. JENNIFER LOST is just $1.49.

Her saga continues in JENNIFER BOUND. After the performance, Jennifer finds herself the target of two men, each of whom wants to make her their own – literally. And Jennifer finds she cannot resist either of the men. JENNIFER BOUND is just $1.49.

Whichever of my works you give, I hope the recipient of your greatly enjoys the work.

Thanks for stopping by.

Jennifer Lost: A new dark erotic tale now available

At the end of November I released my first two erotica tales, PRIVATE DINING and ROOM SERVICE. I really didn’t know what to expect – while I’ve been writing for several years, I’d never considered my work for publication. A writer friend of mine suggested I give it a go, and rather than play the game of submitting stories to markets and waiting forever to get a reply, I opted for the self-publishing route.

PRIVATE DINING and ROOM SERVICE are short stories that sale for 99 cents each, with a continuing story line through the two of them. I have been pleasantly surprised with the response, both in the fact that people are actually buying the stories, and a few are even catching up with me on Twitter to comment. Soon enough I’ll be producing a third work for that series, which I’m calling Tide’s Inn Erotica Tales.

For now, though, I’ve finished two additional pieces that are part of a new series called ville d’esclavage tales. Ville d’esclavage is French for bondage town, if that gives you any hint at what direction those stories might take. The first in the series, JENNIFER LOST, is now available at Amazon.com, and soon the second in the series, JENNIFER BOUND, will be available. I’ve tried to make them sensual and fun and maybe a little bit naughty. Okay, maybe a whole lot naughty.

Here’s a bit about the first story in the series.

Jennifer has long fantasized about being with Andrei Sorin, and her dream seems to be coming true when he asks her to an annual Halloween gathering at his ancestral home.

There she sees a number of people – some she knows from town, others she doesn’t recognize – but the get-together is great fun. After retiring to a small auditorium on the grounds, Jennifer is fascinated by a live magic show, watching as audience volunteers are brought on stage for various tricks: one disappears, then is brought back whole; another is seemingly sawed in half, only to be put back together none-the-worse-for-wear; and then the show takes a dark, erotic turn.

Jennifer watches as her friend, Ashley, is coaxed on stage as a volunteer. There she’s bound, blindfolded, stripped and gagged while the magician and his assistant work a new form of magic, using pain and pleasure to change Ashley from a frightened, struggling captive into a willing servant, craving more than they can give.

Jennifer is horrified – at first by what she sees unfolding on the stage, and later by her own puzzling reaction. Mentally she knows she should be revolted by what she sees, but physically she has a totally different response. Soon enough Jennifer finds herself on stage, bound, helpless, at Andre’s mercy. While she struggles at first, soon enough she, too, hungers for more. Afterward, Jennifer is left wondering what she allowed to happen, why her body reacted the way it did, and whether she can let herself remain under the power of a man like Andrei.

JENNIFER LOST is the first of the ville d’esclavage tales, a series about a small North Carolina town where everyone is prim and proper, with a dark eroticism simmering just beneath the surface.

JENNIFER LOST, just $1.49.

I hope you buy the story. Most importantly, I hope you enjoy it and feel it was worth the cost.

Please drop me a line, or comment here (maybe even join my blog as a follower?) and tell me how you like my work.
