Free, hot fiction for your summer reading

I'm back with what I hope will be my weekly (at least) offering of the best FREE erotica fiction available or download to your Kindle.

Start off with an offering from Purple Pleasure Publishing's Taken By The Pool: A Summertime Gangbang, by best-selling erotica author Mandy Cumming. This is one that'll get your blood pumping and stay with you…especially next time you're at the pool…

Want to know what this one's about? Check out this blurb:

Sharon's worked hard all her life – teaching elementary school children most of the year, taking on summer school teaching assignments the rest of the time to earn extra money, have a chance at good vacations, a better home, other nice things.

She's finally reached some of her goals, and the first year in her new home – complete with a modest pool – she decides to take the summer off, rest a little and enjoy the fruits of her labor.

And she meets Graham. He's an 18-year-old in his last summer before college, working as many jobs as he can to save money, and one of those jobs is coming by Sharon's house three times a week to clean out and take care of her pool.

Sharon watches him when he's around, wondering what it would be to feel those young, strong arms around her, that slender, hard body over her. One day, when her kids are off to camp, she can't help herself. Sharon begins flirting with Graham, and soon enough the two are together, nude, in the pool, making wild, raw love, when Graham's friends show up – a classmate of his, and another friend a year older.

Sharon is playful with them at first, but quickly learns flirting with teen-age boys, even ones who are 18 and 19, may lead down roads she hadn't intended, and that once she gets the boys started, there's no stopping them…

When the irresistible stranger from that one incredible night turns out to be her new boss – billionaire and publishing magnate Neil Elwood – Sophie can’t resist the chance to rekindle the spark between them… and the opportunity to explore her submissive side with the most Dominant man she’s ever known.

Neil is the only man who has ever understood Sophie’s need to submit in the bedroom, and the only man who has ever satisfied those desires. I'm back -- with FREE erotica fiction for you!

Yes, your erstwhile dark erotica writer has returned. I'd love to tell you all where I've been, what I've been doing, and I will, but not today. For now I simply want to announce my return by pointing you to some hot little sexy freebies you can download to your Kindle right now (and no, you don't have to be a member of Kindle Unlimited, Amazon Prime, or anything else – these are just FREE!).

First, let me share with you a sizzling story of a young intern alone with some of her firm's junior executives, a story that includes some hot sex, a bit of bondage, and an unexpected ending. Here's the blurb:

Though Rachel is just 18, she's worked hard to get ahead, graduating from high school two years early, and now landing a summer internship with a prestigious marketing firm. Then she learns interns do one thing – grunt work. Making coffee, running the copier, emptying trash cans.

Then Rachel decides to try a little flirting with Nicholas, one of the junior executives, see if she can work her way into his marketing projects, even if she has to work her way into his pants to do it. Turns out Nicholas is more than willing to trade favors – only Rachel learns he has a thing for women who are tied up, and once she's helpless, Rachel gets more than she bargained for in...

Taking The Tied Up Intern (A Reluctant Very Rough Gangbang Tale): She's Only 18?

Selling Scarlett (A Love Inc. Novel) by best-selling novelists Ella James.

Here's a blurb: Elizabeth DeVille doesn't belong at a party like this--one where the gowns cost more than her Camry and cigars run higher than her grad school utility bills. Dragged out of seclusion by her best friend Suri, Elizabeth is merely playing dress-up, rubbing elbows with a crowd that banished her troubled family years ago.

Hunter West is tired. Tired of parties, tired of pretending, and tired of trying to right a wrong that haunts him every day. Bourbon heir and professional poker player by day, by night Hunter is gambling with his life in a high-stakes game of crime and blackmail.

When Elizabeth stumbles into Hunter's den of vices, she's a light in the darkness, a flame in the void. And, just like everything he touches, Hunter mars her in a record time. To rectify the damage done, Elizabeth needs money she doesn't have, and she's come up with a foolproof way to get it.

Follow Elizabeth--code-named Scarlett--to the lush Nevada brothel where she'll auction her virginity and risk the only thing that's not for sale: her heart. The highest bidder is a familiar face, with wicked hands and the devil's mouth. And a secret so dark that it could cost her life.

For now, just download and enjoy as you see fit.

Deep Throat Bondage (Taken by the Craigslist Lover) by Mary Beth Fisting (wow, what a name!). Mystery. Passion. That's when she meets her Craigslist lover, a man she knows only as Jasper, someone she befriends online, shares fantasies with, then agrees to a hotel rendezvous to act out one of their common fantasies. Soon enough she's bound and helpless, and that's when she discovers what Jasper really had in store for her.

Teach Me Something New, Part 1 by Summer Olsen. Lucy Montgomery has never met a line she wouldn’t cross. Raised by activist parents, Lucy grew up challenging authority. Now 22, she ends up taking a course by Professor Ryan Sherwood, a man whose authority and take-charge style intrigues her. No Panties Friday by Sean H. Robertson. No underwear...is the best underwear! This romantic erotica collection consists of six fiery hot novellas all wrapped into one steamy 45,000 collection for your enjoyment.

Tied and Taken: A Story of Bondage, Sex, and Erotic Desire by Cassie Kincaid

When she was younger Amanda had often fantasized, wondered what it would be like to be taken, against her will, bound and violated by multiple men. She grew older, lost her boyfriend, then lost whatever sense of adventure she had as work and grown-up responsibilities crowded her life.

Then it happened. One night, after leaving work late, she found herself taken, drugged and swept off the street as she walked to her car. Later she woke – bound, gagged and blindfolded, men taking the clothes from her body, kissing, touching….

Censorship, rights, and erotica publishing

Today we're joined by Molly Synthia, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite people in the world! She's an accomplished writer, a deep thinker, and one of the genuinely nicest people I know. While the Lethal Obsession Birthday Blog Blast is about having fun and, hopefully helping you find some new and exciting authors, we also have to remain aware of the constant struggle for the rights to freely publish what we want, without government censorship. Whether it's erotica or political debate, a free exchange of ideas and discussion is vital to any society. A while back Molly took on the issue of censorship and Amazon's decision to stop selling some forms of erotica. I responded on her blog, and today she picks up the discussion.

Well what a joy it is to be on your blog, Shandra! I remember when I published “The Simply Stunning Shandra Miller” on my blog.  You were a wonderful person then, and you still are.  You already know I wish you the absolute best in every endeavor, and I’m excited to take a bit of time today to discuss a little more about the whole Amazon censorship controversy. It’s the continuation of a discussion we started on my blog when I put up a post entitled, “Thoughts on Freedom of Expression.”

Primarily, I argued that while Amazon’s changes in erotica policy were arbitrary and frustrating; they weren’t censorship and ought not to be considered a violation of our rights to free expression.

To me, calling it a violation of our rights as opposed to bad business practice was to diminish real violations of our rights, when the government inhibits our ability to express ourselves.  I’ve written about Pussy Riot’s imprisonment in Russia as well as other dangerous acts governments around the world take against speech, and I pointed out that Amazon can refuse to carry one of my books but only the government could put me in jail for writing them.

Shandra, you wrote a well thought-out response in a comment, and I appreciate it. I thought we could explore it a little more together. I concluded my blog post with this:

I’m not saying we shouldn’t have anger toward Amazon policies. Hell, I’m very angry. However, I think we need to realize that when we throw around words like “free speech” and “freedom of expression” and “constitutional rights” in the context of this situation; we dilute the meaning of those phrases.  Calling Amazon’s hesitance to carry the books “censorship” and an infringement of our rights is akin to saying any publisher who rejects any manuscript is engaging in censorship. My biggest fear is that we’ll forget that the Bill of Rights was created to protect us from government and not from inconvenience.  How will we be ready if real oppression comes if we’ve been crying wolf for so long?

Shandra the Beautiful opened her comment with this:

Nicely written, Molly. You have an understanding that many people don't seem to possess, that the right to free speech from government interference is something the Bill of Rights promises, not the right to say anything we want anywhere we want. Heck, even the freedom of government interference is limited, as several Supreme Court decisions over the decades have shown.

So, you're right on there, sister.

And that’s where it got fun. Right afterward, the conversation turned to the issue of free speech when our world has what might be called “de facto” governments. In other words, companies as large as Amazon and Walmart have so much influence in our lives now that they have some power to oppress. It was an interesting point, but I think it’s still nothing to do with our rights to free speech. Amazon and Walmart can certainly keep us from expressing, that’s clear. However, that’s not the same as someone preventing us from exercising the right to free speech. I’m guaranteed the right to expression.\I’m not guaranteed the right to be heard. I have the right to knock on every door in my neighborhood to try to get my message out there. Nobody’s obligated to keep the door open so I can make my spiel. Nobody is infringing on my rights if every door slams. I’m just not being effective.

From there, Shandra the Magnificent talks about how protests have changed because our urban landscapes have changed. It’s hard to march downtown when there just aren’t any downtowns left. Since most places people congregate are on private property, protests can’t happen there either. Again, the argument isn’t that the malls are infringing upon a right so much as they’re making it impossible to exercise that right. I don’t agree. I think the days of physical protests are numbered. Ultimately, there are far more venues available that don’t involve showing up and picketing. Every organization on Earth has had to come to terms with new ways of getting a message across. Why are protestors any different? Ultimately, saying the ability to exercise the right has been infringed assumes that marching and singing “We will overcome” is the only way available to us.  It’s actually probably the least effective way now.
.
These were two well-thought out arguments, though. I disagree with both of them but I think it’s mostly semantic. We’re in agreement on the principal issues. I just don’t ever want the word “right” used in a context that doesn’t involve the government. The Bill of Rights was designed to keep us protected from tyrants, not from each other. The more expansive our ideas of our “rights” gets, the less we recognize when those rights are eroded, and as a woman who makes her living selling erotica or writing custom erotica, I can’t imagine anything more terrifying for me personally than society losing the battle to keep expression free. We already live in a world where a misspoken comment leads to scandal and resignation. Let’s not live in a world where saying something or writing something that offends someone else can land a person in jail.

Helpless cover revealed!

Today I'm soooo excited, because I get to unveil the cover to my now erotic-suspense novel, HELPLESS, Book Two of the Lethal Obsession Trilogy. Actually, the cover was officially unveiled on three other sites this weekend (Secret Narrative, the website belonging to author Gemma James, and at Deliza's Dirty Dramas). If you haven't seen those, please pay them a visit -- those are some great blogs and websites certainly worth checking out.

If you haven't read LETHAL OBSESSION, please pick that one up. As the title of HELPLESS, Book Two of the Lethal Obsession Trilogy implies, it's a sequel to my debut novel, LETHAL OBSESSION, and while HELPLESS stands fairly well on its own, you most definitely need to read LETHAL OBSESSION to get the full effect. You can get a bit of a discount on it if you're a member of the Goodreads Erotic Enchants group. It's a read of the month staring Aug. 19 there (details at Erotic Enchants reads LETHAL OBSESSION).

You can also get an audio version of LETHAL OBSESSION at Amazon and Audio. com. Right now, Amazon is running a special – you can buy the audio version for just $1.99 after you buy the e-book! At Audio. com, if you join the group, you can get LETHAL OBSESSION for free! That's an Amazon special, so I don't know if they'll honor that price if you bought LETHAL OBSESSION a couple of months ago, but it's certainly worth asking.

But, enough about LETHAL OBSESSION. Let's turn our attention to the sequel, HELPLESS.

Here's the cover:

And now for an excerpt:

Excerpt one
I’m going to die.

The thought flashed through Angela’s mind. No panic. No fear. No emotion. Just a simple, resigned understanding.

I’m going to die.

Not that she could do much, with the man’s face buried between her legs, biting, tongue slipping inside her, probing, sending waves of arousal through her body.

Angela’s legs were bound in what is known as a frog-tie – each leg folded at the knee, right ankle tied to her right thigh, left ankle bound to her left thigh – her arms tied behind her. She was on her back, legs in the air, while he assaulted her.

A rope looped her neck, slip-knotted so that as tension increased the rope tightened, similar to a noose. The other end of the rope was fastened to the headboard. He had protested, said the neck bondage was too dangerous, but she had made her position plain – tying the neck was part of the deal, or there was no deal and he could walk right out without so much as a taste.

So he acquiesced, and once she was bound, helpless, there had been no foreplay. He slapped the exposed inside of her thighs, first one and then the other, over and over until the skin glowed red.

With each blow Angela gasped, felt her face and body flush.

“You like that?” he whispered, and without waiting for an answer he pulled his belt from this pants.

Using it as a whip, he struck her across her cunt, hard. The sting of leather sent a shock rolling through her body, and when Angela moaned he struck a second and third time, then he plunged in, kissing, licking, forcing her legs wider. Hands cupping her ass, he pulled her toward him, and unknowingly moved her down the bed, stretching the neck rope taut.

Angela couldn’t breathe. The desperate, involuntary struggle for air, while his tongue lapped inside her, hands squeezing her ass, brought shudders through Angela’s body and tears to her eyes. She tried calling out, a raspy scream escaping her mouth as the pleasure and agony blended into a sensation that rumbled through her body like a summer storm.

Her vision grayed, and that’s when the one, final thought crystallized in her mind.

I’m going to die.

The idea of trying to cry out, of somehow signaling him, briefly crossed her mind, but she didn’t bother.

I’m going to die, because I deserve to.

Then her world went black.

HELPLESS will be available at Amazon.com Aug. 15, as well as Barnes and Noble and at Smashwords (for any format e-reader) within a day or two of the release on Amazon.

I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for stopping by.

LETHAL OBSESSION is a month old, and the response has been....

It’s been about a month since I published my first novel, LETHAL OBSESSION.  I had published a few erotica shorts, but this was my first novel-length work (although I realize it’s a little short for a novel). I’ll admit to being really nervous – I had no idea how it would be received, what reviewers would say, if it would sell.

Well, this month has exceeded anything I could have dreamed. First, I’ve met some incredible people who have been so encouraging to me. I hate to get into a list, for I know I’ll leave someone out, but I’m going to tell you about one person named JennieSchroder. She’s a writer (check out her Daughters of Eden series), but more than that, she’s been so kind, so supportive. She liked LETHAL OBSESSION, which is great, but even more she reached out to me and offered some valuable marketing advice and has been a major part of the success the book has already had.

I’ll tell you more about her later, in another blog, but I just wanted to say thanks Jeannie, and to all of her crew at the Thunderous Street Team. You ladies are the absolute best!

Now for the reviews.

I’ve been blown away. Let me give you a few lines from some of the reviews I’ve gotten (and please forgive the funky background on some -- seems blogger doesn't like me to copy and paste from other places):

From Goodreads (5 star): The erotic pieces of the book fit in nicely with what was actually happening in the story and not a single sex scene felt gratuitous, which I personally found refreshing…Miller does a superb job of making the powerful draw of the BDSM lifestyle an understandable one on an emotional level as opposed to merely creating a string of sexual scenarios that lack motivation. There's plenty of deviant steam here, but there is also an interesting, compelling story. And that is shizzle I can appreciate.

From Goodreads (5 stars): This was such a great book. I had a hard time putting it down and even though it is shorter book, it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Angela is thrown into a world she craves and doesn't understand why yet. With her job she is bond to find a killer, but with a killer on the loose, her obsession could kill her. This book will keep you guessing, and has some major twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat and your heart pounding.

From Goodreads (5 stars): I can actually say that I was drawn into the story and not just anticipating the hot sex scenes. Shandra did an incredible job with this book and other than being upset that I have to wait till this summer for the next book...I will definitely be recommending this to everyone!

From Goodreads ( 4 stars): I was pleasantly surprised with this book. Unlike some erotic material I’ve read, Ms. Miller is a stylish writer and her work felt like any other book I may have purchased by a big publishing : house in a brick and mortar bookstore - the quality totally holds up in comparison. Her lead character is nicely developed and even in instances when Angela herself didn’t understand her own motivations, the author allows us to experience that internal battle along with her as she navigates her questionable decisions. We get to invest in her instead of just taking on the roles of disconnected voyeurs.

From Barnes and Noble (4 stars): Wow, I was so not expecting that! Ms. Miller took an already exciting genre, erotic romance, and gave it a fantastic suspense element that kept me guessing until the very end!

From Barnes and Noble (4 stars): Lethal Obsession is a BDSM book unlike any other I have ever read! Lethal Obsession is a BDSM book unlike any other I have ever read! This book has bondage, kinky sex, mystery, suspense, and shock!! I include shock because that is how the ending of this book left me!! I literally had to pick my jaw off of my lap when I read the concluding chapter!!

From Amazon (5 stars): OH MY GOODNESS. I could not put it down. I love this book from start to finish and I do mean that literally. I did not put it down from the moment I picked it up. I couldn't. I needed to know what was going to happen. It was absolutely amazing.
